LEGEA an Italian sportswear company has been in touch through the website looking to provide an offer for club clothing. If you have the artwork I can ask from price, availability, samples etc. It was also suggested by a club member that the next set of club clothing to be offered should be an “away” colour so that when two or more PCC teams are competing in a bonspiel they can differential between each other.

Mixed Doubles: Following the ECA MD a number of teams expressed an interested in having an option to play MD within the club. One suggestion was to re-run the weekend 1 hour MD ice which took place before the competition.

Playing As A Team. Our senior ladies team is looking to get more team match practice ahead of the seniors in January. Teams outside PCC are permitted to play as a team gaining much needed match practice. Is there any way to offer this at PCC, as separate ladder / league or integrated into the existing one? Currently we are booking competitions in Scotland to get some games however this is ad-hoc. As a worst case could we take part in the league but be excluded from the prize and marked in the table as such?

PCC Junior Competition – We need to organise this and finalise details
Minutes for PCC Committee meeting 11th May 6PM
- Present. Shena Chad (in the chair), Dave Kershaw, Carol Kershaw, Desna Fielding, Tara Ablett, Marianna Ward, Duncan Johnson, Paul Simmons (late), Guy Topping
- Review of AGM. CK to speak to VK about the new member role and find somebody by next meeting.
- Process and timing for appointing junior representatives. It was agreed that Marianna will continue for another year. This will then be considered annually as with all other positions.
- Wednesday evenings. It was agreed to stick to a mix of mixed doubles and beginners until the ECA Mixed. Then review.
- Annual dinner review. All very good but agreed would be good to move venue. Larger tables would be preferable.
- Programme for matches/ events 2026/27. It was reported that the Dumfries juniors would welcome an event at The Flower Bowl around the18th April next year. Friday and Saturday.GT to speak to MW.
It was proposed to take the ladies match to Dumfries next year. SC asked for reactions. It was felt that midweek ruled a lot of our ladies out. Left with Shena.
- Summer Camp. Progress seemed to be slow. Still so many un-answered questions and costs. The sub-committee to meet this week but general mood seemed to be to cancel and possibly work towards next year.
- DBS/ safeguarding requirement for committee members. It was felt that The President and safeguarding officer should be checked and qualified.
- Doubles league on set evening? We will review how Wednesdays works for the next few weeks.
- Junior cashspiel during summer? It was felt strange to involve juniors and cash. If summer camp falls by the wayside we could instead hold a summer junior Bonspiel.
- Funding/ grants to apply for. Use for ipads linked to website for real time scores. This lead to a wider discussion about systems. DK, DF and GT to review curling.io. DF and GT to discuss cameras.
- Celebrate all successes. Wish PCC players luck when playing at worlds. Publish schedules where people can watch PCC members. Agree whilst desirable this is fraught with problems. We are all volunteers. If someone wants to take all this on that is fine but it is a big job and requires someone who follows curling intently.
- AOB.
Congratulations were passed on to all those successfully sweeping the board in the interclub comp last weekend.
DJ asked about a uniform order. GT to track down the last order form and confer with RW.
- Date of next meeting.
The next meeting will be subject to a poll.
